The best food in town, served in traditional Afghani style. Very reasonably priced. The owners are very friendly and they play wonderful Afghani and Indian music that creates a serene, relaxing environment. I come here as often as possible. Highly recommended!

Laila's Kitchen has fabulous food and great prices. My sister, a vegetarian, first introduced me to the restaurant- they have tons of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and are happy to work with your requests for entes. They use a variety of seasonal and local vegetables. The zucchini, which they often have, is fantastic, as is the eggplant (my personal favorite). The spices they use are mild but full of savory flavor.
The shir chai is also a good choice! It's a sweet, nutty, spicy tea with cream- not exactly sure how they make it, but it has pistachios on top. It's delicious, hot or cold.
The owners are also incredibly friendly and cheerful people. Try Laila's Kitchen the next time you're downtown!
