my wife and I finally braved going to dinner here after having a bad experience at another chiniese restaurant here in hagerstown. We were pleasantly surprised. the decor is good and the place is clean. The waitress that attended to us was great and the fellow that sat us was very polite and friendly turned out to be the owner. The food was fresh and tasty. We loved the sampler appetizer. Our entree was well prepared and tasty as well. We definitely plan on going back and highly recommend it.

Wow! Business brought me here just two weeks after a long stay in Orange County, CA, and the food at Orchid Garden was better than anything I had in the OC (including a dinner at one of Zagat's best Japanese restaurants in the country). Hot and Sour soup was tasty -- and the chef had thoughtfully filled the pepper shaker with white pepper -- a key ingredient to the authentic taste. The special twice cooked chicken was served in a pot so hot the waitress (who was worth the 25% tip I left) wouldn't let me open it right away, for fear of splattering hot sauce all over me. Who knew you could get a decent selection of Saki in Washington County, though the wine list could use some help. I also appreciated the decor, which is all Applebys on the outside, but on the inside looks like the fulfillment of what every strip mall Chinese is trying to do. For the money, this is the best meal I've had in years. As a frequent Zagat reviewer, I will nominate Orchid Garden to them.

Food and atmosphere are exceptional. They have a variety of different oriental foods to choose from and the prices are good for everything you get!
